Determine League Age

Mansfield-Ashford Little League offers baseball for boys and girls league age 6-16 yr old (Little League Age) Some programs, such as Majors and 5070 baseball and 5070 and Juniors baseball allow players to play on two teams (divisions of play) during the same season. 

The first step is to determine your child's "league age" for baseball by viewing the age chart or using the little league age calculator here: https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/determine-league-age/. Once you have your league age, review the division descriptions on this page to see what divisions are available for you.  If you are tee ball age (4-6yr), please go to our Tee Ball Information Page.

MINORS A BASEBALL (LEAGUE AGE 6-7)

Minors A Baseball is an instructional coach pitch division.  Coaches are permitted on the field during games to pitch to their own players and reinforce defensive positions on the field.  Player-to-player pitching is introduced in the second half of the season.  Teams will have 7-8 players to maximize player activity.

Age Requirement: League Age 6 & 7. 

Uniform & Equipment:

  •  M-ALL will provide team baseball bats, but it is recommended that players have their own bats so they can practice on their own with a net/tee or at the batting cages at Southeast Park in Mansfield.
  •   - M-ALL has a limited number of batting helmets available on a first come, first serve basis.  However, it is recommended that each player purchase their own helmet.
  •  - Player purchases cleats, pants and baseball glove.

    Managers/Coaches Meeting: Mandatory M-ALL managers/coaches meeting is scheduled in March.  The Coaching Coordinator will be in contact with all coaches.

    Mandatory Evaluations: All A-Minors players, including any league age 6 players that have participated in at least one year of Tee-Ball, are required to attend player evaluations in March.  Evaluations are used to evenly distribute players on teams based on their skill level.  

    Schedule: Practice during the week will be determined by coach availability and games will be on Saturday.  The majority of games, if not all of them, will be played within our league.

MINORS AA BASEBALL (LEAGUE AGE 8-9)

Minors AA Baseball is an instructional player pitch baseball division that introduces player pitching with modified rules.  Players will receive equal playing time in order to ensure everyone has the opportunity to have fun and develop.  AA 

Age Requirement:

  •  All League Age 8 players are placed in this division
  •  League Age 9 players will be split between AA and AAA based on evaluations

Uniform & Equipment:

  • Family supplies team jersey, socks, cap and team baseball bats. A limited number of team bats are available
  • M-ALL has a limited number of batting helmets available on a first come, first serve basis.  However, it is recommended that each player purchase their own helmet
  •  Player purchases cleats, pants and baseball glove

Managers/Coaches Meeting: Mandatory M-ALL managers/coaches meeting is scheduled in March.  The Coaching Coordinator will be in contact with all coaches

Mandatory Evaluations: Evaluations/Tryouts are required for all players 7 and 8 years old

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, which will consist of a combination of games and practices.   Games will be played against other M-ALL teams and other local leagues.  **Weekdays are dependent to coach and field availability and are subject to change**

MINORS AAA Baseball (League Age 9-10)

Minors AAA Baseball is the first level of competitive player pitch baseball.  Players will receive equal playing time in order to ensure everyone has the opportunity to have fun and develop. 

 Age Requirement:
 - League Age 9 players will be split between AA and AAA based on evaluations
 - All League Age 10 players are placed in this division
 - A limited number of League Age 11 players may be included in AAA if they are not placed on a Majors team

Uniform & Equipment:

  •  Family supplies team jersey, socks, cap and team baseball bats.  A limited number of team bats are available.
  •  M-ALL has batting helmets available on a first come, first serve basis.  However, it is recommended that each player purchase their own helmet.
  •  Player purchases cleats, pants and baseball glove.

MAJORS BASEBALL (LEAGUE AGE 11-12)

Majors Baseball or "Little League Baseball" is our highest recreational division for players under the age of 12.  

Age Requirement:

  •  All League Age 12 players will be placed in the Majors division
  •  League Age 11 players will be evaluated and placed in the draft pool for the Majors division.  Any players not selected to a team in the Majors division will be drafted to the Minors AAA division

Uniform & Equipment:

  • Family supplies team jersey, socks, cap, pants, plastic cleats and a baseball glove. Uniforms are purchased through SquadLocker
  •  M-ALL has a limited number of batting helmets available on a first come, first serve basis.  2-3 are distributed to each team. However, it is recommended that each player purchase their own helmet.
  • Only the jersey and cap are required purchases from Squadlocker. All other items listed below can be purchased from any vendor.

INTERMEDIATE BASEBALL (LEAGUE AGE 12-13)

Intermediate or 50/70 Baseball is a transitional program for league age 12-13 players.  The  jump from little league to the major league size field is not easy for all players and often leads to frustration.  This division adds a step-up in field size that allows the players to have success AND has the same rules as the major league field.  Many of these players will also play for their middle school at the same time, but the two programs will not conflict.   

Age Requirement: All League Age 13 players will be placed in this division.  League Age 12 players CAN also play in this division IF they also register for Majors Baseball.

  •  Families supplies team jersey, socks, cap and team baseball bats. Team bats are available. USA and BBCOR bats are permitted for 5070
  •  M-ALL has a limited number of batting helmets available on a first come, first serve basis.  However, it is recommended that each player purchase their own helmet.
  •  Player purchases cleats, pants and baseball glove.

JUNIORS BASEBALL (LEAGUE AGE 14)

Junior League Baseball is our first level of play on the "big field" and begins in April and runs through mid-June.  The schedule will be tailored to not conflict with middle school baseball in order to ensure players can play on both teams.

Age Requirement:

 - All League Age 14 year olds will be placed in this division.
 - 
League age 13 players may be considered for this division if the Intermediate division did not have enough players to form a team.

Uniform & Equipment:
 - 
M-ALL supplies team jersey, socks, cap and team baseball bats.
 - 
M-ALL has a limited number of batting helmets available on a first come, first serve basis.  However, it is recommended that each player purchase their own helmet.
 - 
Player purchases cleats, pants and baseball glove.

SENIORS BASEBALL (LEAGUE AGE 15-16)

Senior League Baseball is our highest level of play and begins in early June after the middle and high school seasons have completed.

Age Requirement:
 - 
All League Age 15-16 players will play in this division.
 - 
League age 13-14 players may be considered for this division if the Intermediate or Juniors seasons have concluded or there were not enough players to for teams in those divisions.

Uniform & Equipment:
 - 
M-ALL supplies team jersey, socks, cap and team baseball bats.
 - 
M-ALL has a limited number of batting helmets available on a first come, first serve basis.  However, it is recommended that each player purchase their own helmet.
 - 
Player purchases cleats, pants and baseball glove.
